DDNS is a public Dynamic Domain Name System (DDNS) that is built-in to several DVR models and can also be used on PC based DVRs with our XP Client software.
Being a public DDNS system, your DVR's name will be a sub-domain of one of our many
domain names. For a list of our DVR related domain names click here. Being a sub-domain
your DVR's name will be similar to "mydvr.dvrname.com".
If your DVR has DDNS capability
or your DVR is PC based (has a Microsoft Windows Operating System), then DDNS is
the best solution for you. If your DVR supports DVRNS then we reccommend our DVRNS
solution. DVRNS is built-in to DVR models sold by: ADT, ATV, Brinks, Capture, Costar, Honeywell
and more. Click here for the full list of supported model numbers.
DDNS provides DVRs with a static DVR name even if their IP address
is dynamically assigned. DDNS circumvents the need for
static IP addresses. Almost all IP addresses are dynamically assigned.
|
Having a Dynamic IP addresses is a lot like having to change your phone
number several times a day, if other people need to call you they would have no
way of knowing your current phone number. In comparison, a dynamic IP address assigned
to your DVR could change several times a day. As a result, you have no way of knowing
the current IP address of your digital video recorder. |
DDNS comes into play when you wish to save the money you would spend on a
static IP address, or you are unable to acquire a static IP address from your ISP. DDNS
enables your digital video recorder to update its IP address to our
DDNS Server automatically
each time its Dynamic IP address changes. This IP is mapped to DVR’s name allowing
you to connect to your DVR by using the DVR’s name instead of its IP address. The
whole process works automatically, despite the changing Dynamic IP addresses.
There are millions spent each year by businesses and individuals that require static
IP addressing for their DVR. Most do not know about DDNS, and many would
be happy to know that there is a qualified alternative to the thousands of dollars
they spend each year for static or persistent IP addresses. So don't waste anymore
time or money on something you don't need.
Our DDNS systems were designed specifically for digital video recorders
and security systems. The DDNS system is setup from the DVRs menu system or
if using the XP Client, from the client's menu.
If your DVR supports DDNS, then our DDNS system is the best solution for you.
All of our service include 30 day free trial and free tech support where you speak
to a highly trained engineer/technician rather than call center personnel that read
off of a script.
